Every story has a beginning. Ours began with gemstones.
Since 1990, our family has been manufacturing semi-precious stones through our company, Gems India. For decades we've handled stones in their most natural form. We've studied their colours and textures, learned to appreciate their imperfections, and understood that no two stones are ever quite the same.
I grew up around these stones, and somewhere along the way I started seeing them differently. They stopped being just gemstones to me. They felt like small fragments of nature, waiting to become something more.
That feeling is what eventually led to jewellery.
In 2026, that long relationship with gemstones turned into a new idea called Sagari Joyas.
Sagari comes from the Hindi word Sagar, which means the ocean.
The ocean has always meant something to me. Its endless blues, its soft whites, the way its colours shift and its movement never really stops. That became the natural inspiration for the jewellery I wanted to make.
It's not just the colour of the sea that inspires us. It's the way the ocean moves and behaves. The rhythm of waves. The pull of tides. The shape of coral reefs. The quiet detail in marine life. The curve of a shell. The textures water leaves behind over time.
All of this slowly finds its way into our jewellery through flowing forms, natural textures, ocean toned colours, and carefully chosen gemstones. Each piece is meant to feel like little fragments of the sea that found its way into jewellery.
You might see the deep blue of dusk over the ocean in one stone, or the milky white of sea foam in another, or a shimmer that looks like sunlight moving across water. Some pieces take their shape from the movement of marine life.Others by the irregular beauty of shells, coral and the quiet architecture of the seabed.
In many ways, the sea has become our palette and our starting point for everything we design. We try to make each piece feel as though it was gently drawn from the ocean, still carrying its colour, its movement and its character.
Nothing is rushed.
A gemstone is chosen because of what makes it different. A shape is worked out. A texture is developed by hand. A colour finds its place. And slowly, an idea turns into a finished piece of jewellery.
We work in 925 Sterling Silver and Brass, finished in 18K Gold, Rhodium in nickel free and silver plating, including micron finishes. We use semi-precious gemstones throughout, bringing natural stone together with contemporary design to make jewellery that feels distinctive, expressive and wearable .
